PANCRAZIO DE PADOVA (It), Exhaustion Breeds Distance, 3:53, 2016

One of the many human experiences is to migrate. Throughout history, all countries have experienced a period of migration, some as ejectors and others as receivers. Some of us migrate to escape war, famine, environmental disasters or simply because we cannot find ourselves in our place of origin. The obstacles encountered in this long journey are not only cultural and psychological but also physical. More and more we see a world of walls, fences, blockades that prevent the free passage of people. This is does not happen to capital. Capital is free to come and go in any country. But no matter how we will always find ways to penetrate these futile barriers. "Exhaustion Breeds Distance" tries to make a critical comment to this aberrant idea of protection, this construction of physical obstacles to prevent humans from entering other countries.

Pancrazio De Padova (Puglia, Italia, 1984). Currently living in Mexico City.
His experience in Grottaglie, famous for its pottery, specializes him in this discipline from 1999 to 2004 in the local institute of arte (Istituto d’Arte di Grottaglie). Through the ancient technique of ceramics he approaches to the timeless and primitive fundamentals that projects his work.
He studied at the Academy of fine arts in Rome (Accademia delle Belle Arti di Roma) where new techniques of painting, sculpture and etching are added to his work. In 2009, he studied a master in arts and show disciplines, completing the number of techniques that defines his artistic proposal.
?After his academic training, he traveled to Paris and Berlin, where he investigates the concept of Der Sturm group; being an emerging experience of the spirit of his production. A highlight of this time is the exhibition at the Teatro dei Dioscuri del Quirinale in Rome (2010).
It is added to these developments the art direction and set design of the play L’Agnello (2011- 2012), providing a rich multidisciplinary expertise that leads to his last painting impact.
Now, in 2013, he is actually producing his latest multidisciplinary collection based on a concept he calls “Layerism”, which consists in applying successive layers of matter and pictorial technique creating different levels of information. This feature allows bringing together the multitude of representation resources where primitive forces and contemporary ones, scenic devices, pictorial research and performance actions are alternated; the results are a rich collection of work ranging from drawing to video and photography.
Layerism approach comes from the method defined by the artist as Multi task IN Vision.
